1: Installing the Spring Metrics Code

Last Updated: Apr 01, 2013 08:52AM EDT
The first step to getting your website set up to use Spring Metrics is installing the tracking code. When you sign up, you have two options for how to install the code:

  1. You can do it yourself, or
  2. You can email the tracking code to a technical contact who can install it for you.

The code needs to be placed in the header of your website for all of your pages. This can usually be done by placing it in a common header file for your site. While we strongly recommend that the code be placed in the header to ensure data accuracy, you can place the code in the footer of your site if that is much easier for you.

If you use a content management system (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.) to edit the content of your website, there is probably a field to paste the code into. For example, in Magento it looks like this:

If you only have access to the raw HTML code itself, we recommend pasting your tracking code just above the closing </head> tag, like so:

Once the code is copied, you should verify that the code installed successfully on your website. Navigate back to Spring Metrics and click "Check Again!"

You should now see a message notifying you that the code has installed successfully on your website. You are now ready to complete your setup in Spring Metrics by tagging a conversion page on your site.

If something didn't work, or if you need assistance with this process, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
